Scotwood scoops Best Small Business Award

Scotwood Interiors Ltd is officially LANARKSHIRE’S BEST SMALL BUSINESS 2015.

The results of the Lanarkshire Business Excellence Awards 2015 were announced on Friday 27th February at the Motherwell Concert Hall at a prestigious dinner for almost 500 business contacts, hosted by North and South Lanarkshire Councils. Proud director John Taylor collected the trophy in the category for businesses with up to 50 employees, sponsored by UK Steel Enterprise.

Based in East Kilbride, Scotwood Interiors was founded 50 years ago and has become one of Scotland’s leading specialists in office fit-outs, design and refurbishments. The judges said that the company has proven that it can innovate, adapt and continue to move the business forward with the times. Turnover has increased at least 10% year on year in recent years.

All three Scotwood directors, Jim Scott, Douglas Kerr and John Taylor, attributed the accolade to the energy and team work of their 38 employees.

Doug Kerr said: “This is a prestigious award and we’d like to thank North and South Lanarkshire Councils, the judges and sponsors for presenting us with this honour. It’s fantastic for all our staff to get this recognition for their dedication and hard work, particularly at the conclusion of our 50th anniversary year.” Doug added, “We are all very proud!”

Chair of South Lanarkshire Council’s Enterprise Services Committee, Councillor Chris Thompson, who launched Scotwood’s new brand look last year at the start of its 50th anniversary said: “It is great to see a South Lanarkshire business thrive and continue to prosper through the changing economic times of five decades. Well done Scotwood!”
