Scotwood scoops Silver FIS Award – another national win for a local business

Scotwood Interiors Ltd has won Silver in the 2016 FIS awards in the Interior Fit-Out category. The awards have been introduced in Scotland this year for the first time ever to celebrate the quality of work and the tremendous range of contract projects across Scotland.

The Finishes & Interiors Sector, known as FIS within the industry, announced the results of the Scottish FIS Awards 2016 on Friday 9th September at a prestigious lunch for almost 200 business contacts at the George Hotel, Edinburgh. Guest speaker Sandy Strang commended the contractors who had submitted entries across eight categories in the inaugural awards and congratulated the winners.

Proud joint managing director Douglas Kerr collected the Scotwood Interiors prize which recognised the exceptional quality of Interior Fit-Out for a client at Norloch House in Edinburgh’s West End, Edinburgh. Douglas said: “We were excited about this contract from the word go. The client was HK Surveying & Design and the end-user was creative agency Whitespace – we worked with them both to provide a beautiful working space for the company’s expansion.”

Jim Scott, joint MD, who oversaw the Scotwood team delivering the project, was unable to attend the ceremony but said afterwards that he was thrilled with the outcome. “The sheer quality of this classy new working environment makes you feel special as soon as you enter the reception area,” he said. “This is the second national accolade awarded to this outstanding project – the design and fit-out has already received recognition in the British Council of Offices regional awards 2016 and automatically goes forward to the national awards dinner in London on 4th October.”

Based in East Kilbride, Scotwood Interiors was founded just over 50 years ago and is one of Scotland’s leading specialists in office fit-outs, design and refurbishments.
