We have welcomed a new apprentice to the Scotwood 
team.
Luke McLaughlin started with us on his 16th birthday on 18th September and joins us straight from his school which was Uddingston Grammar.
As part of his four- year apprenticeship, Luke will attend South Lanarkshire College in blocks, over 3 years, where he will hopefully achieve his Advanced Craft Carpentry & Joinery SVQ Level 3.
Scotwood has employed more than 30 apprentices since launching our apprenticeship scheme 50 years ago.
Many of our team began their careers with the firm as apprentices which is part of the reason we enjoy a staff turnover of less than 2%.
Scotwood Joint Managing Director, Jim Scott commented: It’s so rewarding to put a youngster like Luke through the right industry training – there simply aren’t enough companies doing it.
