Scotwood were delighted to be appointed to this project to expand laboratory facilities after a competitive tender process for new client Cambrex, at Edinburgh Technopole Science Park.
A 20-week project timetable saw Cambrex’s facility double to 15,000 sq. ft enabling the company to employ 40 more scientists. Works incorporated a complete strip out of existing facilities carried out over two phases to ensure the client maintained use of part of their lab facilities throughout.
We created the new labs with a mixture of solid and glazed partitions, new flooring and ceilings were installed, as well as new lab furniture and fume cupboards. A full M& E fit out allowed for a new heating and colling system, specialist gas installation and small power and data installation.
Scotwood Interiors managed the project carrying out the full fit-out and working with specialists on the installation of scientific equipment.
