Following a strategic review, and a significant increase in home working, the decision was taken to consolidate long-standing client, RLG’s Edinburgh offices into one building at 22 Haymarket Yards.
Working with Form Design Consultants, Scotwood acted as Principal Contractor across the two phase project. The first phase involved the creation of new offices and meeting rooms over three floors to support new ways of working, group collaboration and an increase in online meetings, while the second phase saw the creation of a stylish restaurant on the ground floor.
A new restaurant was seen as an important in supporting the health and wellbeing of the newly consolidated team.
The second phase included the installation of a state of the art commercial kitchen in addition to the fit-out of the café, break out areas and works in the adjacent meeting rooms.
The design featured ceiling detail, incorporating oak rafting from the V Tec Maxibeam Range , Autex acoustic wall panelling and feature lighting, including neon signage in the café. Scotwood created bespoke furniture as part of the design execution.
Flooring was a combination of Domus ceramic tiling in the dining area and Milliken and Shaw Contracts carpets in the seating areas.
